IBEW ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP PICNIC
This year’s picnic was another hit. The food, fun, raffles, games, and more, made this one for the books. Our grand prize winner was Jeremiah Landsberger of the 86-inch TV donated by LMCC. It was a well-attended event, and we even invited OE3 who not only donated a JBL speaker and air pods to our raffle, the also set up a table with freebees and information about their branch. If you happen to miss this year you definitely want to attend next year! We are always looking for volunteers to help make this event a memorable one and I wanted to give a huge thank you to those who showed out and showed up.
PIN PRESENTATION
On another note, if you were one of the retirees that attended the picnic, we had the pleasure of handing you your pin and certificate. We had a low response and decided to present those who may have attended the picnic their pin and certificate. It was a warm welcome and beautiful day to celebrate those members before us.
SPORTSMAN’S CLUB
Last month the Sportsman’s Club held their raffle at the 9/3 Membership meeting, and the winners were

NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION
Our next scheduled class is set for October 7th at 5PM. This is an informative class for new members who recently joined the union where we provide in depth material about benefits, pension, and what the union provides for not only the members but their family. Please mark your calendar and look out for our reminder emails that get sent to everyone a week prior to the class. We encourage you to bring your spouse.
WOMEN’S COMMITTEE
Join this month’s event, Mario Kart Tournament. The tournament is scheduled for Saturday, October 18th from 1PM – 5PM. If you are interested in attending, please send in your RSVP to ibew340sisters@gmail.com. We hope to see you there.
If you are interested in getting involved with the Women’s Committee, monthly meetings are held on the third Wednesday.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS BASKET RAFFLE
The IBEW/NECA Annual Operation Christmas Basket fundraiser has kicked off at our October membership meeting. This has been a long running tradition started years ago by our IBEW Brother Lud Larson and Brother Harry Bain. The prizes are as follows:
1st Prize – $1,500 cash
2nd Prize – Shotgun
3rd Prize – $250 in lottery scratchers
Tickets are available for a suggested donation of $1.00 each. Grab your tickets by attending any of the meetings now until the drawing or stop by the hall, please be sure to pay with cash or check. All proceeds for this fundraiser will go towards purchasing food and toys for Union members in the Sacramento Area who may have had a struggling year this past year and need some assistance in providing a holiday for their families. Help support the cause and a chance to win one of many great prizes.
The drawing will be held at the Sacramento Membership/Christmas Dinner Meeting on December 3rd at 5PM. Winners do not need to be present to win. This meeting is open to all IBEW Local 340 members, both Active and Retired.
LOCAL 340 TOY & FOOD DRIVE
While we realize others may have had a great year some may have experienced a harder time whether it be with work or personal issues, everyone could use an extra hand occasionally. If you are an IBEW Active member in need of a little extra help with either food or toys or both for your family please reach out to Reyna at the business office via phone 916-539-0412 or email reyna@ibewlocal340.org. This list will be kept discreet and not for public knowledge, please do not hesitate to ask for help if you are in need.
Our hall holds our own Christmas Food and Toy Drive specifically for Local 340 members and their immediate family. We will be collecting non-perishable food items and new unwrapped toys at the Business Office now through December’s membership meeting. Feel free to drop off either food or toys to help a fellow Brother or Sister.

REST IN PEACE
It is with deep regret to announce the death of former Assistant Business Manager in the Redding area.
Active Brother Andrew Meredith passed on 8/16/25. He was a 24-year member and 45 years of age.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Serena and their children.
