PIN PRESENTATION
At the time of writing this, we are getting closer to honoring our retirees with their Years of Service pins for those members with 50+ years. It is a great reminder to remember how far our local has come and what a transformation we have seen over the many years. We know this event is one filled with memories, enjoyment and appreciation. Thank you to our staff and officers for creating a memorable event for these Retirees.
NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION
Our next scheduled class is set for January 13, 2026. Thank you to the spouses that attended. We have sent notices to those members who may have missed the last class. Please mark your calendar and look out for our reminder emails that get sent to everyone a week prior to the class.
COMMITTEE MEETINGS
If you are looking for ways to be more involved with your local we encourage you to attend one of the locals committee meetings held here at the Sacramento Hall. See details below.
The Women’s Committee holds monthly meetings at the hall every third Wednesday at 4pm with an option for zoom if you cannot attend in person. It is a family friendly event that encourages you to bring the kiddos if you have them.
The EWMC meetings are on the second Wednesday of month at 5:30 PM. They currently have a Coat Drive, if you happen to have any lightly used or new coat you can drop it off at the hall.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS BASKET RAFFLE
The IBEW/NECA Annual Operation Christmas Basket fundraiser is underway. This has been a long running tradition started years ago by our IBEW Brother Lud Larson and Brother Harry Bain. The prizes are as follows:
1st Prize – $1,500 cash
2nd Prize – Shotgun
3rd Prize – $250 in lottery scratchers
Tickets are available for a suggested donation of $1.00 each. Grab your tickets at the hall or by attending a membership meeting, please be sure to pay with cash or check. All proceeds for this fundraiser will go towards purchasing food and toys for Union members in the Sacramento Area who may have had a struggling year this past year and need some assistance in providing a holiday for their families. Help support the cause and a chance to win one of many great prizes.
The drawing will be held at the Sacramento Membership/Christmas Dinner Meeting on December 3rd at 5PM. Winners do not need to be present to win. This meeting is open to all IBEW Local 340 members, both Active and Retired.
LOCAL 340 TOY & FOOD DRIVE
If you are an Active IBEW 340 member in need of a little extra help with either food or toys or both for your family please reach out to Reyna at the business office via phone 916-539-0412 or email reyna@ibewlocal340.org. This list will be kept discreet and not for public knowledge, please do not hesitate to ask for help if you are in need.
Our hall holds our own Christmas Food and Toy Drive specifically for Local 340 members and their immediate family. We will be collecting non-perishable food items and new unwrapped toys at the Business Office now through December’s membership meeting. Please contribute to help out a fellow brother or sister in need this holiday season.
